Kim Roxie, Founder and CEO of LAMIK Beauty, is dedicated to celebrating the beauty of all women. With degrees from Clark Atlanta University and Tuck School of Business, including an executive leadership certification, Kim's background sets the foundation for her success. She earned her esthetician license from Houston Community College, where she opened her first store at 21.

Beyond the beauty industry, she has raised $500,000 for The Rose, providing uninsured Black women access to mammograms. Recognized as 40 under 40 in the Houston Business Journal, she was chosen for the Tory Burch Fellowship and received the Texas Women's Foundation Young Leaders Award in 2021.

In 2011, when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, she started asking why and how. When she looked at the ingredients in makeup she was using everyday, she found parabens, talc, and other known carcinogens.

After her mom passed in 2014, it became her mission to give women of color access to safe, natural beauty products. LAMIK is a health and wellness brand just as much as a beauty company.

In 2018, she began to focus on the solution, LAMIK, clean color cosmetics for women who historically have been marketed more toxic makeup options than their counterparts, women of color.

LAMIK Beauty launched in March 2020 via E-commerce, with the first product she needed the most, a brow product. Kim struggles with hair loss from alopecia. Her brows don't grow on the ends. She created the Brow Kit to put the frame back on her own face to give a natural-looking brow that no one would even know she applied daily. She's now given that power to other women and sees it when they get their brows back.

In her words, "When I created LAMIK, the name was nothing more than my name spelled backward with an La (pre-fix) from my middle name. Now LAMIK is an acronym that tells the meaning of what it is, Love And Makeup In Kindness.
